Each Welcoming Provider should properly orient their staff to effectively carry out these best practices in this new immigration enforcement climate. The presentations below may be utilized for training purposes within your organization.
Creating a Welcoming Environment for All
This is a training for your institution’s immigration liasions and/or front line staff who will interact with immigrant populations and could interact with Immigration Enforcement officers. It will help familiarize staff with Alliance policies.
Immigration 101
This training will provide staff with an overview of immigration as it’s relevant to your team, including challenges that immigrant communities face.
Healthcare Know Your Rights
Providers may utilize this training to educate their patients and community members on their rights to accessing healthcare services in Illinois. The training also includes an optional training at the end with general know your rights for immigrant communities.
Providing Care for All
This training will help providers better meet the needs of their patients with disabilities and provide linguistically competent care.
